Shop Hunting Tuesdays: Sketchbook

Sketchbook   |  http://sketchbookcrafts.com  |  http://ambermjensen.com

Durable, Unique, Functionally Crafted Goods.

Sketchbook was created by Amber M. Jensen, as a response to the love of adventure and exploration of the outdoors. A keen eye, a passion for art, and the skill of two hands goes into each creation.

Amber Jensen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1982 and currently lives in Eugene, Oregon. She received a BFA in drawing from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2004. Since then, she has traveled to New Zealand to work on a bucolic sheep farm, inspiring the creation of her own line of bespoke wool, waxed canvas and leather knapsacks.

Each piece has been designed and sewn into prototypes, then modified in order to find a perfect balance of durability, style and functionality. Every pack is handmade with very fine attention to detail using quality materials. Drawing inspiration from 1800’s and early 1900’s mountaineering gear, owning a Sketchbook pack is like taking a step back to a simpler time.

Shop Hunting Tuesdays: Lega-Lega

image

Lega-Lega  http://lega-lega.com

Lega-lega was created rather casually, as a result of mental exercises and brainstorming in Osijek-based design studio Mit. We figured out that we wanted to have products that would solve some of our problems too. We were aware that there are many products somewhat similar to our ideas, but seriously lacking creativity and fun.

Although technology has made possible not to have to use pen and paper, there’s something cool about ink or graphite on paper. These reasons inspired us, and drove us to create a product that will praise and encourage writing, drawing or doodling and with time become a part of you because you will imbue it with a part of yourself.

Each Lega-Lega T-shirt comes in a special packaging… carton! This original, award winning, very practical and unique packaging has many benefits. Other then keeping your Lega-Lega T-shirt fresh it can also be used as a decoration in your lovely home, a trap in your fridge or as a container for your nick-nacks.

Shop Hunting Tuesdays: Little Mountain Supply Co

Little Mountain Supply Co   |  littlemountainsupplyco.com

A while back, before I bought my first screen printing machine, I was scrummaging through an old photo album that my parents had stored away. Within the dust and a few moths, I came across a photo with rolling hills, a cloudless skyline and a rich forest. In the background was a little mountain. Now if you speak any Czech, you’ll already know that my family name, Horacek, means “Little Mountain”—a fact that I had only recently discovered. In that moment, looking at that photo, it all just clicked. My name, the image and the logo icon just came together so naturally.

For a few short years, I did the best I could to fully master the true art and craftsmanship that is the screen printing process. By using traditional tools, such as graphite, water color paints, charcoal and my personal favorite the Sharpie, I created an organic and natural look that just felt right to me. I’ve found that much can be achieved with a combination of simple illustration and solid typography, and I’ve learned to find the beauty in little imperfections.

There’s a true gratification that you get when you are able to take a passion and turn into something special. I am Joe Horacek and I am the owner and operator of Little Mountain Print Shoppe and its Supply Company.

Little Mountain Supply recently released an Autumn Collection, featuring some really cool T-shirt designs that are perfect for the No Shave November. Each shirt from was hand printed by your fellow bearded screen printer, right here in the United States of America. Using premium inks with high mesh screens allowing less ink to be cure on the garment. Each shirt is individually printed. Making no two tee’s a like.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of this awesome T-shirts or you just want to see the whole collection, proceed to their website or facebook page.

Shop Hunting Tuesdays: Critically Acclaimed

Critically Acclaimed   |   http://criticallyacclaimedclothing.co.uk

In this very first post of Shop Hunting Tuesdays, I would like to introduce you to a UK streetwear brand called Critically Acclaimed - an ongoing clothing project established in early 2010, that started out as a project to use the advertising of major businesses from all around the world against themselves by hijacking the meaning of a commonly used marketing phrase in place of a name to direct the audiences thoughts towards us.

Recently they dropped out a new Winter / Autumn Collection that features 5 luxury snapbacks, 3 hoodies, 2 t-shirts and 2 pom pom beanies.

Focused on fine materials and simplicity, majority of their products only have subtle branding, as they thought it would be better for their customers to buy a high quality product because of the quality of the items and not because of the name on it.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of this gorgeous products or you just want to see the whole collection, proceed to their website
or facebook page.

*From now on, each Tuesday I will present you one cool (design) shop that I find all over the internet. I’ll be featuring all kinds of shops (clothing, prints, furniture and more) and if you own one and you think I should check it out, let me know! (email)*
